Changing your screen resolution simply makes the icons and text on your screen smaller or larger, thus altering the amount of information you can see on the screen at once. The higher the resolution, the smaller the icons are, and thus the more you are able to see on your screen at once (e.g. in an Excel spreadsheet or a database programme).

A window like the one opposite will appear. Press the Settings tab along the top. Record what screen resolution you are currently using in case you wish to change it back aterwards. Then, using your mouse, drag the Screen Resolution bar along to the right until you have set you reach 1024 by 768 pixels.

Click Apply, followed by OK to accept the settings.

Now, you are ready to go!

If you wish to change your setting back to how they were before, simply follow the instructions and scroll the screen resolution bar back to the resolution your recorded previously.
